Microsoft Bing uses OpenAI - Chat-GPT to Finally 'Challenge' The Google Search Engine

Wild, though not at all surprising. These "accidents" seem to keep coming. Oops! There is no way on God's green earth that I would ever knowingly install AI on any of my machines, agentic or standalone (what's or who's to say how long it will remain standing alone). Caveat emptor.

    Craigslist, Marketplace, Kijiji morons

Clearly all original. I bet even the oil is original. P.S. What's wrong with Swiss cheese?

throttle control for under the hood work

Yes, engine speed can be controlled bi-directionally using a Tech 2 or an advanced scan tool. That said, I have had poor results using my VCX Nano and Tech 2 S/W running on my laptop; the RPM's hold for 5-10 seconds then drop back down to idle. I have also had success with a bottle of beer . ...

Checking in - Quiet in here?!?

Have noticed loading issues as well as a "Server Not Found" warning this morning. Otherwise, it's been 110F to 115F+ here in sunny AZ so too hot to really do anything other than sweat!

What did you do to your GMT today? [Part II]

"Spare" (as in pitched because they are not needed) parts is never a good sign . . .

What did you do to your GMT today? [Part II]

If you don't have time to to do it right the first time, how are you ever going to have time to fix it the next time?

What do you think when you read thread titles??

My ears start ringing in desperation just at the sight of him . . .

Microsoft Bing uses OpenAI - Chat-GPT to Finally 'Challenge' The Google Search Engine

As with all new technologies, the general case for AI is being massively over-hyped; not on the basis of capabilities as hyped by the developers, but the financial possibilities/opportunities being hyped by the VC class. I naively used to think marketing's job was to explain how the product...

What did you do to your GMT today? [Part II]

Re-calibrated the PCM for the new tires using a Hypertech Max Energy programmer. Set up Torque Pro to display GPS Speed and vehicle speed then compared the two against the speedometer. Perfect correlation between GPS and vehicle speed at 20/30/50mph while the speedo reads 1 mph high. Works for me!

What did you do to your GMT today? [Part II]

Put new tires on the truck. Got 60K out of the old Michelin LTX AT2's and they still had 5/32 all around but it was time. I wanted to replace with the same but Michelin no longer offers that model in 265/75/R16 so I went with the BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain TA+.

    Reality thread...continued.

Keep asking questions & trust your gut. And when it comes to the answers, they need to be consistent and make sense. The only dumb question is the one you don't ask. And remember . . . keep your stick on the ice. We're all in this together.

Is a Genuine Tech2 worth it

All depends on what problem you are trying to solve. That said, I would be very careful (read: skeptical) about any Tech2 that I could not confirm was genuine prior to purchasing. General Motors (GM) and ACDelco have enforced security measures that block counterfeit or clone diagnostic...

Code Reader for all GM Modules

Got it, makes sense. Not being a coder I had to be satisfied with setting up a macro in the terminal app to execute that string sequence. Even though the output is HEX as long as I see 00 in both DTC bytes 1 & 2 I know I am OK. Would definitely be interested in the turnkey app once you get it...

Code Reader for all GM Modules

An app is not necessary. You can directly query the network using an ELM327 adapter and a serial terminal app like Kai Morich Serial Terminal. Below is the command sequence I use to get MIL, Current & Pending DTC's for all modules on my '03 Suburban: ATZ ATSPA2 ATH1 ATS1 ATAL ATSH6CFEF1...
