    Coolant thermostat/temp questions

Bill, I was present during the design phase of these vehicles. I wouldn't give GM credit for sinister intentions for placement of the T stat, or I should say don't give them that much credit. This and many other similar issues from the time frame of 1998 - 2007 (like the fact that on my DTS...

130,000 Miles Cleaned throttle body, changed plugs, Bottles and bottles of Techron. Not sure of the Fan clutch pedigree. Same one as when I purchased the vehicle with 60K miles. I can get it up to 3700 RPM in park before it limits further revs. Hoping someone else has encountered and solved...

Disconnecting Negative Bat cable for Throttle body cleaning

When I cleaned the throttle body a few months back I pulled the PCM fuse for 30 minutes rather than disconnect the cable and risk having a vent actuator issue. Is this method effective in resetting the PCM? I just ordered a OBD memory saver for use on a different vehicle. Would this be the...

Wanted to do this for years and finally got the opportunity for my daughters graduation party. We chilled hundreds of beverages for the kids and the adults in 80+ temperatures for 6 hours. Spark plug change and maintenance

The same location recently on my truck, changed the plugs and found a large nut / pit (looked like the size of two peach pits together) wedged in there around #4 coil. Amazing that something as big a squirrel could cary that into the compartment and work it into place with the air box in place!

I6 Sputter, Surge, Hesitation, Loss of power, fixed by replace Manifold Oxygen Sensor

Excellent point, good catch I did the throttle body cleaning when I changed the plugs tooth brush to the tougher deposits, polished clean as new, reset the PCM by Fuse 10 and 28 (PCM fuses) pulling fuses for 3o minutes also changed out the air filter. None of those things got it done for me...

I6 Sputter, Surge, Hesitation, Loss of power, fixed by replace Manifold Oxygen Sensor

Read scores of posts to get to the bottom of the issue. The symptoms below were bad with the A/C off, and when it was 85+ degrees and with the A/C on it made the vehicle barely drivable. Poor acceleration Surging Erratic shifting Hesitation Extreme loss of power Tried the following...
