    Front Strut Questions

I put this on my envoy last month. i bought them from Amazon for $110(?) each. Putting them on was pretty easy and the ride is softer then the bilsteins i had on before them. But the orginal struts had 250,000 miles and the springs felt soft so i replaced them with the moogs. Bottom line - i...

shocks/struts time to replace, need specific input

I appreciate the quick response. Yes, the envoy is a grocery getter, but we do put around 20,000 miles a year on it in our travels to Iowa and Yellowstone. Looking forward to going into the park next week!!!

shocks/struts time to replace, need specific input

Hey, quick question...does the front end need an alignment after pulling the strut tower? I don't think it does, but wanted to make sure. Thanks.

Big savings on Mobil 1 filters for the inline 6ers and Mobil 1 motor oil

Thanks. I just picked up a few. They really don't have a shelf life...right?

Extreme frustration - Hood release latch not working

Could it be frozen? I had an issue a few years ago when moisture got into the cable and would not allow the latch to properly lock. I was stuck on the side of the interstate in the middle of Nebraska and it was 10 below. I could only get the safety latch to work. I had to manually push the...

    Potential Water Leak?

I am finding that out more and more as I get older. Thanks for the input. I just wanted to see if anyone else was having similar issues. Looks like I might sleep well tonight. Thanks again.

    Potential Water Leak?

My envoy may be misbehaving and i was wondering if someone smarter than me might be able to chime in. A couple of weeks ago, I pulled off the oil cap and noticed that the inside of the cap looked milky. I immediately checked the oil and it looked fine. I cleaned the cap off and did not think...

    Would I feel any difference with a K & N air filter !!!!!!

So not to stray to far from the topic at hand, but the op also asked about switching over to synthetic with 122,000 miles. I have been wondering about doing the same, however, i am sitting more like 190,000 miles. Are there any potential concerns about switching? I am looking to increase the...

What's this hose? (Long Wheel Base)

Not to change the subject too much, but what is part # 23? I think it is a valve to help control rear heat. Mine seems to leak a little coolant sporadically but only when it is really cold. Should this be one of those AC Delco parts(like many other parts on these gmt) or will any work just...

    Rear Brake Question

I will be tackling this soon. I never had good brakes since i owned the envoy. The ebrakes will slow me down, but not enough to hold the vehicle tight on a steep hill. My question, what does the adjustment on the brake lever do? I feel comfortable adjusting the drums, but I kind of got lost...

    Transmission line connectors

I bought a $10 adapter "stub" that inserts to the transmission and not a new line. I realize that the question is a little off topic, but I figured this might be a good place to ask. So to clarify, I attached a rubber hose to the existing return line to transmission. It is on this line where...

    Transmission line connectors

Quick question. I just installed my transmission cooler, and I forgot to pull off the little black protective cap for the quick connect. It is on the transmission line. My question, do I need to pull it off and place it over the new adapter that fits into the transmission? The black cap is...

    Driver Side Power Seat Failure

Okay, I figured it out. There is a 10mm nut at the end of the cranking shaft. I tried to take it off to try and get the shaft to move without the stress or weight of the seat. As I tried to loose the shaft the motor and gearing in the motor felt like it broke free. Sure enough, the seat was...

    p0440

Not to rub it in, but I had mine replaced under the special warranty. I was so grateful i found this place (I suppose technically it was the os, but you guys are soo much better). If i remember correctly, I want to say the repair was $1000 for the dealer to do it. But as i think about now...

    Installing external transmission cooler

I went with the same cooler, but I am wondering how you ran your lines from the radiator to and from your aux cooler. With the aux inlet and outlet facing up, and the cold return line at the bottom, drivers side, that seems like a lot of hose with a lot of places to rub. Just wondering. I...
