Had the same issue with my 2008 gmc acadia slt and my problem after alot of internet research was the alternator

While owning a 03 Envoy xl (loved it)then a 08 Acadia slt I figured the Acadia would follow but I was very wrong. had similar issues with my 08 Acadia with voltage fluctuations with also the charging system and battery lights coming on intermittently but finally bit the bullet and purchased a rebuilt alternator and all is good now

Thanks MRRSM the recent post you are referring to is mine so if anyone out there has similar issues with their charging system and has any diagnostic help I would love to hear from them
