Accessing Bottom of Engine Fuse Box

I agree - I would prefer it to be a little warmer. But, even with the mechanical fan, my truck was almost always 198-201 though, what I felt was a little cool, even during the hot summer months. I looked at a lot of different things to see why it wasn't higher, even replaced cat, to see if...

Accessing Bottom of Engine Fuse Box

Update - I got the efan working, all good now, no temperature issues - holds steady at 196 per scan gauge. It was user error - the guy who keeps doing my repairs really does shoddy work. The outlet gasket was displaced - actually on the garage floor, and the coolant wasn't filled properly.

Accessing Bottom of Engine Fuse Box

Still overheating. I don't think it's a sealing issue because the temp kept rising while driving on the freeway even at low rpms. I have the pcmforless plug and play kit and apparently it maintains a proper operating temperature without modification. The outlet hose is leaking still but could...

Accessing Bottom of Engine Fuse Box

I put the AC on post 85 of the AC relay. It started up and ran well, and the fan kicked in around 200, like it's supposed to. I did not run the AC, but it seems as if the fan is working properly on the electrical side. Unfortunately the temp kept rising to about 230 and then steam billowed...

Accessing Bottom of Engine Fuse Box

Ha thanks. I did read that about efans, but I think for my purposes it will be good, and this was going to be my second fan clutch replacement... For the AC line, I just want the control signal from the PCM (grn/wht) to the relay. For the blade on the relay I would want the wire on pin 85...

Accessing Bottom of Engine Fuse Box

In looking at the top of the fuse box, it looks like I would want Fuse 22, Ignition E for the ignition connection, and Fuse 30 for the A/C connection. The electrical diagram indicates the Ignition E fuse is hot on Run and Start, which is what I think I need. Does that sound right? Also, the...

Accessing Bottom of Engine Fuse Box

I may just go that route. I just thought maybe I was looking at the thing wrong how it comes apart if you can do it without disconnecting a bunch of the connectors.

Accessing Bottom of Engine Fuse Box

Hey guys, trying to finish up an efan install and am having a little trouble pulling the top of the fuse box out to connect the key on and A/C wires. I have it lifted up but the large bundles come out on both sides, so flipping it over is proving difficult. Any tips or suggestions, or is there...

Mevotech LCA strut mount bushing deteriorated after 4 months

Sparky no noise yet, but haven't had more than a light mist so far this year in San Diego. You're lucky, the creaking on my OEMs was unbearable from me just hopping in to the driver seat. Taking a trip to the mountains over the holidays so we'll see how it holds up. The LCAs were the first...

Mevotech LCA strut mount bushing deteriorated after 4 months

I put in the Mevotech LCA's probably 3-4 months ago and already strut mount bushing is coming out. In the pic below you can actually see the bare metal inside the bushing area, which would normally be covered by the rubber seal which has pulled away from the LCA surface. Probably just going to...

    still running cool

Thought I would post an update since Captain offered to help out on this. In changing out the cat a few weeks ago I snapped one of the muffler flange bolts, so I only had it bolted on with one bolt in the back. I didn't think it would have much effect since it was downstream of the cat but...

    still running cool

Only code I've ever had was the cooling fan circuit, P0128 off the top of my head. I replaced the fan clutch for it once but it has gone bad again. Beyond running the fan at full speed occasionally when it should not, it doesn't seem that problematic. Other maintenance is pretty up to speed...

    still running cool

Ok thanks - I guess that is good news and bad news. I've thought that the sluggish performance I've had was related to temp issues. Every once in a while it feels like there's actually something behind the pedal so I know there's potential but most of the time it feels like mush. Wondering...

    still running cool

I've had this issue for a while now with no luck. The temp reading from my scan gauge is pretty steady at 196-198, occasionally up to 201 when idling. I replaced tstat, temp sensor, coolant, and now finally the cat. My long term fuel trim is still almost always -3.9 when idling in Drive...
