In December I got the same transmission, 3yr/100k... they adjusted the shift points in my PCM and put 40+ miles on it road testing. It shift just like any stock transmission I've even driven... soft and either too early or way too late. But, they did adjust the shift points.

Great! I'm looking into doing this for my TB too. On your shifts... did the tune make it so shifts are more "sport" tuned? I'd like the PCM to hold gears a little longer on acceleration and downshift quicker, not at around 3/4 pedal as it seems to prefer now. My TB seems to climb the gears...

I passed my Tech & General in 2010, got Extra in 2011. Still working on getting my new mobile installed into my TB, mostly waiting for warmer dry weather.

Yeah true it's newer, but I'm certainly not going to be doing work like I did/do on my 70/80/90's stuff. :crazy:

I found that front exhaust manifold exhaust nut is missing on my TB. Does anybody know what the specs are on this so I can go pick one up? Thanks!

My TB is in getting it's transmission replaced, but even with transmission issues I was getting 15 city and 18 on the highway, bone stock. I hope to do better in the future, not by much, but anything I can get. :) Oregon's gas is 10% blend year round so the only real difference is air temp and...

Still have the factory 8" with 3.42's. I'm not going to put a locker in my TB, the wheelbase is just too short and it would be horrible on the street where I drive 100% of the time. Detroit has a TrueTrac unit for it though, so that's where I'll go. Plus it's less than buying an 8.0 or 8.6 with...

Yep! With all of the rain, slick leaves, and snow I run into each year I certainly won't survive with an open diff. True-Trac install is in my plans for Spring. If I want the backend to kick out, I can take the F250 with the PowerTrax soft-locker I installed out for a spin. :thumbsup:

Open carrier is a major pain... when the weather improves I certainly will be installing some form of traction control diff.

I'm too am new to GMTNATION, been here a while now even before getting a PM on it. From the lack of any real new information, why would anybody care if they were removed from the old site? There is activity on both sites but there are a lot of dead threads on tv... I'm happy here. Tom.

Sounds great. Which CAI did you go with? I was thinking of making my own from the stock box eventually. On the PCM site there was an option for skipping gears if so enabled, don't think TB's run that but I'd want it turned off if it did. Not planning on any other mods except for adding/swapping...

I'm seriously looking at this option myself. The shifts are too soft and throttle response is lacking. Could you reply with the other options you picked in your tune, octane, rev limiter, gear skip, towing, etc? Did you keep your old PCM or send it in for the tune to avoid the CASE and...

I bought my '04 TB almost two months ago, and love it. Friend has had an '02 TB LT since new and I always liked it, so when the wife said I could look, I found one I liked. No issues that I didn't expect with a used vehicle, did replace the thermostat right after purchase, but other than that...
