Thanks @m.mcmillen; I have a clone ELM OBDII reader and use Car Scanner Pro. It cleared the "stored" and "pending" codes, but it wasn't clearing the "permanent" codes. However; after idling a few times today to beat the cold, and then driving home, it seems to have cleared up. No more codes...

Drove it to work this morning. Hard starting; had to "feather" the gas pedal to get it to start. Runs great as long as you have your foot on the gas, even a little. At rest it would idle rough. No CEL all the way into work, though. When I got to work I shut it off for a couple minutes and...

Fuel pump finally showed up. The engine is back together and...has a rough idle. But it runs smooth above idle and is throwing no codes. Any thoughts? EDIT: The original four codes are still showing as permanent codes, but not pending or current. I'm not sure exactly what that means...or...

I do appreciate all the patent advice. I just don't think that will be a feasible route for me, due to the significant up-front cost. I don't want to eat that cost if it turns out that no one thinks there is any money to be made with them. If a company is willing to do all the work in...

They (and others) both encourage idea submissions: https://www.lislecorp.com/idea-program/ https://www.sptool.com/new-tool-idea/ And I am under no illusions that I am the first to think of this idea. It's possible and even likely that I'm not, but I may be the first to pursue the idea.

It's an extremely specialized tool. It performs one job, on one (I think...still figuring that out) series of engines. I assume the cost of obtaining a patent would negate any potential profit . That's why I am leaning towards taking it straight to a company like Lisle or SP.

Has anyone here ever invented a new tool and worked with Lisle, or SP Tools, or anyone else? I have a new (I think) tool idea and would like to give it a go with a tool manufacturer. Lisle and SP seem to be the two best options, and searching the internet I haven't yet found anyone complaining...

Rock Auto did have a note saying to order it with the AC Delco pump (which I bought). The note wasn't there with the other brands of pumps. I have a real hard time coming up with any reason why that line would fail. It is stainless steel with SS compression-type fittings on either end...

I went with Simple Green. Mixed it about 1:8. Very disappointed. Used a bottle of full strength on the parts first, and that was a bit better, but still not great. Had to do a lot of scrubbing. So I tried some Zep Heavy-Duty Citrus Degreaser. Now this is more like it. It has D-limonene...
