    White Goop on Oil Cap

I live in southern Ontario, Canada, and my trip to work is 8km. My oil cap often looks like that this time of year.

Question about struts - LWB vs SWB

A quick question: Does my 2003 TrailBlazer EXT 4.2L take the same front struts as a non-EXT? I see that Monroe website lists the same part number for both, but the EBay item I'm interested says they aren't compatible. Thanks!

360 killing a wheelbearing, no way! (Sarcasm)

My passenger bearing started making noise last fall, and I changed out both one weekend(bought some cheap no-names from Ebay, $90 for a pair with a lifetime warranty) . The passenger was still original @ 265km / 165k miles.

    FEEDBACK Proposal: Tech2 section

I wasn't aware that there were Tech2 clones - can someone elaborate, or provide a link? I have an Bluetooth OBDII adapter, and Torque for my Android devices, but it can't do some thing's I'd like to be able to do (ie anything w/the HVAC system).

Question about some parts from a front brake hardware kit

Yeah, not sure what he used, but they warped a few months back, and seem to be deeply worn for rotors with so few miles on them. I beat him up on the price of the vehicle, so I'm sure that he didn't put the highest quality parts on. If you look real close at the picture you can see the NAPA...

Question about some parts from a front brake hardware kit

Thanks! I was wondering if #4 was replacement boots, they just don't look like the ones that are on there now. #5 being noise makers makes sense to me now - on previous vehicles they've been part of the brake pad, not seperate items.

Question about some parts from a front brake hardware kit

Hi there Folks, I'm doing front rotors and pads on my 2003 TrailBlazer EXT this weekend. Background is that the pads and rotors were changed by the dealer prior to sale to me about 1.5 years/25000 km ago, but now pulse like an SOB and look like crap. Had the brakes apart when I did the front...

spare tire size question. 16 on 17?

I answered my own question, just had to look at my door. Should've had a 17" spare. Another thing to curse the PO for.

spare tire size question. 16 on 17?

Sorry to dig up this old thread, but I have a question for other EXT/XL owners - What size spare came with the vehicle? I had a flat on the rear this morning, dropped my spare (hadn't done so before, I was just very glad my winch didn't bugger up like others have), and found a 255/65/16 on a...

I want to replace my front strut assemblies

Has anyone used a quick-strut assembly other than Monroe's? Rockauto is listing MOGG, KYB, and Raybesto options as well as the Monroe.

Need some help solving electrical flickering

You've isolated the flicker to the alternator by the flicker disappearing when running only on battery power. Fix the known issue first, return the "new" alternator for warranty. Electrical noise, in the form of a half AC waveform, caused by AC getting by a defective diode in the alternator...

TCC Slip numbers via the Torque app

Here's what I've observed on that subject while using Torque: 1) While stopped and in gear, the TCC slip should be close to the engine RPM. 2) When moving, but not in 4th, the TCC isn't locked, and you should see a little bit of slip. In the range of a few hundred RPM if i recall. A bit more...
