    Height of towing connector ?

How high is the approximate centre point (i.e. centre of the square) of the 2 X 2 towing connector (where you slide in the tow hitch) off the ground ? I've upgraded to a Yukon, which I'm sure is higher ! Thus I'm going to need a new shank. Thanks very much.

Best way to charge a battery stored in the back of the SUV ?

That's one reason. Saved my bacon the other day when we had left the car at an airport for 3 weeks. Another is to connect my high pressure air pump to it Another is to parallel it with my inadequate (but can't make it any bigger on the frame) trailer battery when we are "boondocking" over...

Best way to charge a battery stored in the back of the SUV ?

For reasons that are long and complicated, I'd like to carry a spare battery in the back/trunk of my TB. How could I keep it charged up as we go along ? Plug it into the cigarette lighter on the back of the separator between the two front seats ?

Tahoe's/Yukon's more reliable than my current Trailblazer ?

I need more payload capacity than my current 2007 Trailblazer can offer. I've been thinking about trading it in and buying a 2010 ish Tahoe or Yukon (not the XL). Q1: How much extra payload do I get with a Tahoe/Yukon. Q2: Are they more or less reliable than my Trailblazer (In three years, I had...

Extra Tranny cooler not sufficient - what next ?

Yeh, well November has come around, and now nearly at the end of our migration from Ontario to Arizona, the result is that the above "fix" has made some improvement, but not enough. In Oklahoma, with a head wind of 25mph, a travel trailer with a blunt front end weighing about 2800lbs, I had to...

Some of my concerns have come true !!

Almost two years ago, after i had just purchased my 2007 TB, and after I had joined our "ex-forum", I became concerned about the number of problems owners were experiencing, and listed in the "ex-forum", the problems that people had experienced: 1. Ignition Switch, 2. Front wheel bearings, 3...

Extra Tranny cooler not sufficient - what next ?

So I pulled the trailer for two hours with an opposing wind of about 20mph and an outside temperature of 70 F degrees, but I couldn't go more than 55mph without the transmission temperature going over 200 F degrees. The radiator temperature also rose to 212 F degrees, whereas it's usually in the...

Extra Tranny cooler not sufficient - what next ?

I felt sure I was correct in my diagnosis of the problem, so I didn't uncouple any tubes to determine the flow direction. What's more, the Chevrolet dealer agreed with me. They flipped the connections, installed new springs and only charged me $71. Money well spent as the connections were in a...

BCM, LCM, or something else ?

It's usually a good idea to change one thing at a time. That way you get to know more about the problem. Start again doing this. Although you may have caused a new problem by now !

Extra Tranny cooler not sufficient - what next ?

As soon as I disconnect either of the Tru-cooler hoses connected to the radiator, won't fluid gush out from the Tru-cooler ? The connections from the Tru-cooler to the radiator are at the bottom of the radiator and the Tru-cooler is near the top of the radiator. Even assuming I let it gush out...

Extra Tranny cooler not sufficient - what next ?

You are right in principal, but unfortunately on my vehicle, they mistakenly switched the tubes at the top connection point near the passenger's side, just behind the radiator when the Dodge dealer replaced them, i.e. the tubes going to radiator are two tubes, each tube has two sections. A...

Extra Tranny cooler not sufficient - what next ?

Please find new temperature readings after an one hour drive. ALL the temperatures in the text and the numbers in the diagram are in Farenheit. My apologizes about the confusion in the previous posting. According to my Scanguage II, the TFT was at 203, the water in the radiator was at 207...

BCM, LCM, or something else ?

I don't have heated seats, I guess you must have a LT model ? However, based on my experience, before buying anything, I'd undo the taping around the wires and tug and see. Maybe the taping is holding together a broken wire. My wire had been pulled apart, i.e. it had got snapped, whereas some of...
