Thanks and Good Bye (For Now)!

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you all know how much I've appreciated everyone's help over the years in which I owned my 2002 Trailblazer LTZ. We've been through some really fun stuff together and interesting journey's - all of which had your help when it came time to repair. This is one of the...

    A couple of issues....

Just wanted to update this thread with results. Since the thermostat replacement - things seem better. Fuel trims are much closer to zero and throttle response has much improved. I did get a leak from the new ECT - couldnt torque it down enough to get a proper seal. A crows foot did not work...

    A couple of issues....

That ECT sensor. What a pain the the @$$ that was! Ive got a pretty extenstive resume with rebuilding honda engines and cars even up to working on an annoying Audi but the ECT in this truck by far is the f’in worst thing ever! Anyhow, burped the cooling system. Temps reached 175 rather quick...

    A couple of issues....

Welp. Im in the middle of changing the thermostat. Going well. But...the ACDelco thermostat in there now is not in any way stuck open. I have been monitoring temps via BT app and it stays rather close to 175 on average. Im going to take a wild guess and assume that this is just defective in...

    SOLVED! Strange OBD2 Port Issues

I've had the LED's on for a while without any issues of sorts. The light issue just started to happen last week. I swapped with the fan relay and didn't have any issues with light or OBD2 port. Would be interesting to take a deeper dive and find out why this relay would affect it. Maybe when...

    SOLVED! Strange OBD2 Port Issues

    SOLVED! Strange OBD2 Port Issues

I don't think anyone would have ever guessed.... So I've also been having strange headlamp issues - they would stay on at night and never shut off. During the day, they seem to be working normal, at least I thought. I let it go for a few days because it doesn't drain the battery - I'm using...

    SOLVED! Strange OBD2 Port Issues

Yeah it's the right pin. I actually removed the remote start entirely - cool idea but not great if I can only remote start the thing at 2ft away lol.

    SOLVED! Strange OBD2 Port Issues

Never had to use the OBD prior to the tap. Actually, I soldered the connection from module to #2. I haven't tried to move the shifter position when engine not running. I might try this tonight. Gauges still operate as usual without issues. SES light comes on when triggered. Everything works as...

    SOLVED! Strange OBD2 Port Issues

I do have another OBD interface which is wired and it has the exact same issues. I can plug in the OBD MX+ and the wired OBD device to another car and they operate without issues regardless of drive position. The info in the following link seems to be consistent as far as OBD connector pin out...

    SOLVED! Strange OBD2 Port Issues

Hey budwich, i can confirm power - the obd device does maintain power going from park to other positions - there is power led indicator. Even out of park, the device can connect BUT fails with trying to communicate. Specifically, im using OBD MX+ and have an actel handheld device - both express...

    SOLVED! Strange OBD2 Port Issues

I'll keep this one short... Cold start, while in Park, the OBD2 port responds as normal. As soon as the shift lever leaves Park and goes into Drive, the port still provides power and does not communicate with any scanner. I had an iDatalink bypass module connected to Pin 2 of the OBD2...

    A couple of issues....

Yeah I know. I'll be starting a new thread to address the OBD2 port issue. As for high idle after prolonged steady driving - I will contribute this to cool engine temps. The other day it finally threw a P0172 code and it went away on it's own. When the code triggered the ECT needle was just...

    A couple of issues....

Yeah, there's power and BT to the adapter when out of Park. My phone can connect to it but OBD Fusion will not read vehicle data then disconnect. Well, I completely removed the bypass module from the OBD lead pin 2 and still having the same communications issues.
