I was underneath checking the ground strap for the ABS when I saw this device/connector hanging down below the ABS module. Never saw this before--seems to be some kind of sensor maybe (?), anybody recognize it? I zip tied it up so it wasn't hanging down any more. I've been under the car many times and never saw it before.

That is a relay. Cannot say what it is for. It likely came loose from where it has lived up to now.

I'm searching Charm right now, nothing so far. Weird that it would show up after all these years--I would have expected to find a mounting tab somewhere on it to mount to the frame, but nothing like that.

That would be in the vicinity of that pump so looks plausible.

You can see on the exposed side of the relay, a channel on each side where it slides on to a mount spade. At least it looks that way to me.

Get the number off the relay and punch it in at RA or GM site and it will give you the exact name for that relay, unless of course, that relay part number is used in numerous places on that vehicle.

Yeah I see what you're talking about. Thought it should have had something to mount to the frame. I suspect the relay is common like the ones in the fuse box but I'll check it and report it here for posterity. It's a strange way to set up a relay, almost like it was added in after the electrical system was finished with the design. Would'a made more sense to me to have it in the fuse box with the rest. Well anyway I've had the air pump deleted from the PCM so I have little concern for it now.

The whole system was added on after the launch of this platform in 2002. The port was already built into the head but blocked off. This block-off plate is actually sought after by people deleting this system on later years. My '07's is blocked off with the plate from my old '02 EXT.

Interesting--I did learn about the port block-off when I was looking into the AIR delete for the PCM. In fact i ordered a gasket for it from Amazon and was planning on making a plate myself but still haven't got around to it. I ordered the gasket 3 times-first time it arrived bent so I returned it for a replacement and it arrived bent as well. After the first 2 I gave up, then some months later I tried again and the 3rd one arrived bent. At that point I took a good look at the manifold to make sure it didn't have a bend in it :Banghead::hopeless:. Unbelievable...
