Valvoline Restore and Protect. Observations.

I've been using Valvoline Restore and Protect for the last few oil changes

It had definitely slowed down my oil consumption. I have noticed however, that it gets dirtier much faster

It makes sense and I'm fine with that. What I do suggest is anyone making the switch to R&P is do your oil changes early. 3000 miles max.

Eventually it should clean everything up and I can go back to my 5000 mile changes.

It is getting dirty because of the cleaning it is doing, and I am sure you know that. The mileage interval I use is 4k or 4 months, whichever is first. The cleaning will slow down as the inside gets cleaned out.

Good to know, I've been hearing some good reports lately about that oil. I think @Mooseman posted a video about it not long ago.

Yeah I did. Have heard nothing but good stuff about this oil. I'm also planning on using it on my TB. I will do a compression test first. I had one cylinder with a slightly lower number when I was trying to diagnose an intermittent misfire a while back. It hasn't come back since I replaced the fake ACDelco plugs but I want to do this experiment to see if it can help improve my compression. I did notice some varnish inside the valve cover at the fill cap. Will document as I go.

Not familiar with that but, will have to check it out. Did buy up some Mobil 1 from Wally world, before prices and availability become an issue because of ya know....

Do yourself a favor. Check out the Valvoline Restore & Protect and check out Lake Speed Jr. videos at you tube and his videos about that oil and what it does.

By the way, full synthetic oil, will not be affected by oil prices.
