So I hate making this type of post but I need to know if someone has ideas. So the rear of my SS has a chatter. Louder with speed. Faster with speed. very fast clicking.
Heres my ideas of maybe an easy solution.
Brake Pads & Hardware
Switch Diff fluid, Currently running mobil1 syn with Delco LS Add. has been complaints on tbss owners of that mixture.

Grab some headphones and tune out the wind its there

more dominant in first 15 seconds rest of it is worthless

I couldn't hear it, like you said it would be difficult with the wind noise, so I did a little bit of searching and I heard of 2 reasons...one being in the 4WD and not adding an additive to the rear diff gear oil, and the other being the bolt on the driveshaft coming loose, or an issue with the pinion. I'm not sure if this relates to your truck or not, but this is what I have read on TBSSOwners and one other site.

Yeah that video is borderline worthless.. I have the brakes Im going to change those but I doubt they are anywhere near worn yet change dif fluid to straight Purple, and just check everything while Im at it. Truck has been running awesome then this nonsense pops up.

I don't know if these questions are even relevant or not, but have you tested to see if the noise happens while in park, or reverse? Maybe that would help eliminate whether or not it could be the drive shaft? As the drive shaft doesn't move while in park, might help with that aspect anyways. I know you said the noise increases with speed, and the drive shafts IIRC(Still learning lol) move faster the faster you go, which could be making the bolt move more. I'm not saying this is the issue, just what I have been reading anyways.

Its motion related for sure, when I was booking today this thing was clicking so fast and so loud it was a HOWL this was aboutttt 80mph I had to back off. and now I have 10hour days till Friday so its dark when I get home. Trying to talk my dad to look it over while I take the f250 to work for tomorrow.

nope just got new brakes and rotors out of the deal the ss doesnt want to give up the noise and royal purple diff

Jacked the car up with tires on and ran it, No noise at all when its up in the air drop it and drove it once 20mph hits boom right back at it and becomes audible again. this is driving me nuts. Maybe this noise is traveling and its actually a problem up front this is my next adventure.

I had a clicking coming from my rear diff, I thought it was a Ujoint but it wasn't. maybe 3 weeks later I was backing in a parking spot and heard a huge clunk and wasnt able to move.

I pulled the back cover off the diff to find the spider gears completely sheared off, I ended up doing an axle swap.

I was under the impression to not use any synthetic fluid in the SS rear, will cause clutch slippage/chatter.

Sorry for the double-post but can you run the video again with the rear hatch open and someone else filming? Wind noise was too overwhelming and I used headphones.

You can have someone hold the camcorder and place it in a plastic gallon jug cut open and will double as a somewhat dirty parabolic mic and reduce wind noise being held out of the window, rear or side.

believe i have found the sound. front passenger hub assembly. About to order a pair off ebay might as well replace both while im at it.

Be cautious you don't pay too little for the pair. Lots of CCC for $39.

Is the reason you did an axle swap because you didn't want to do all the bearing replacements and backlash adjusting of the pinion gear?

I actually rethought it and Im probably going to buy MOOG from advanced on my off day. Use the promo code get some money off and get the better product.
