stock radio

Hello friends purchased 05 recently didn't have a radio and harness doesn't have plug
Got a radio and plug off a 02 tb what do I need to do to get it to work

It won't work without a trip to the dealer and that 02 radio may not work in the 05 due to differences with chimes and other stuff. 02 didn't use the radio for the chimes. And the Theft Lock will prevent it from working unless a dealer programs the VIN into the radio.

Unfortunately this is true. Thanks to all the jokers out there stealing radio head units (EVEN crappy stock ones), there are now systems like this in place. Pretty much, the radio is programmed with a copy of the vehicle's VIN number. When the vehicle is started, the radio and the BCM communicate and compare VIN numbers, if it's not the same the radio will not work.

What about pulling the chip out of it
Bench tested radio preset5 seek power simultaneously and it powers on

Almost seems easier just to call the numbers. But I guess if your swapping radios ....shits already taken apart. What a pita!! Nice find bt.

Thanks. It may be for some people but for me removing that chip takes about 10 min lol
