    Weird AC issue

Thanks. I tried a few searches and struck out. I'll try again.

    Weird AC issue

Just started the other day. Wife gets in and no AC, nothing, like it's off. Comes home and tells me, I go out and cycle it by pressing the off then Auto and it starts working. Works correctly once it comes on. Today same thing. What's going on? I'm guessing a relay but that's purely a guess...

Right Blinker blinks at double speed

Thanks, never paid that much attention. I was primarily going by the goop that I find factory installed and just figured it was different because it "looks" quite a bit different. I use dielectric grease all the time on spark plugs without difficulty. Just remember: Assumption is the mother of...

Right Blinker blinks at double speed

Don't forget dielectric grease is non conductive. You should be able to find actual "bulb grease" at the auto parts store.

Thanks,I wonder why it broke? Oh well, I'll try pic and pull tomorrow trying to avoid the steelership.

    Hood latch lever spring

Broken hinge pin. I looks like the spring is what holds the lever in place by clipping into a slot in the pin. Won't know for sure untill I see an unbroken one.

    Hood latch lever spring

I thought the same but it just doesn't look it. Which in my world means it probably does... To actually remove it it looks like I have to remove the kick panel. I'll be on it this weekend. LMK what you can see. Thanks.

    Hood latch lever spring

Found the return spring (I'm assuming) laying on the floor under the lever. I haven't tore into it yet but I wondering if there are any tricks I should know. Specifically The lever dosen't seem to have any way of being retained. I can slip it in the pivot but it will slide right back off with no...

    Smart Meter Craze?

The smart gas meters around here "look" like they've only installed a reader of some sort. Being somewhat familiar I can usually tell if the piping has been disturbed etc. and, only looking at the neighbors, I believe it hasn't. If true that, obviously, would cut the cost considerably. Found...

    Smart Meter Craze?

Or the short version: The paranoids are out to get me. Always liked that one and few seem to get it. Yours is good also. Such is life...

    Smart Meter Craze?

Speaking of meter readers, we have a "smart" electric meter like I said. Our next door neighbor has both electric and gas. Why we have only elec is beyond me. Does that mean they send someone out to just read my gas meter? Been that since we got the smart elec meter. You'd think their system...

    Smart Meter Craze?

I didn't watch but. to me, this is funny. Last year, after doing a bit of research, I wrote to our local paper. The jest was that these things operate very close to the same frequency as a wireless router. I posed the question that if you have a router how is that different than one of these...

    Thermostat replacement

Frankly I'm amazed that people are going to all this trouble to replace the t-stat. Through the fender works. What you will need is a long extension or two together and a so-called wobble socket or adapter. One bolt is easy the other a bit more of a challenge. It's not a slam dunk but, to me...

Replaced Plugs, check out the oil and odd plug number...

This thread is a bit old but I finally got around to digging up some links to help with "reading" of the plugs. Also with all due respect to everyone (caution rant) I can't believe that oil is getting past the plug and onto the threads. First there is no "gasket" just a tapered seat. Properly...

Look what happened after a panic stop

It was either that or somthin' fancy. I'll take care of it. Thanks. AND, sorry but I had no intention to hijack this thread.
