    Lower control arm bracket problem

This weekend I’ve been replacing a lot of the front end parts on my 05 trailblazer and I I’ve run into a problem on the drivers side lower control arm bracket. When putting the new one in, one of the nuts that appear to be welded on the frame that the 3 bolts go into, broke free. I also cross...

    End link holes bored out

I’m about to tackle the ball joints on my wife’s trailblazer and I’ve started looking everything over to figure out what all I want to take care of while I have it apart. While looking, I noticed something weird with the end links. I guess my father in law replaced them a couple of years ago...

Replacing ball joints - Should I replace cv half shafts too?

My wife's Trailblazer has 190k miles on it. The ball joints are shot so I'm going to be replacing those as well as the end links this weekend. Should I swap out the cv shafts while I have everything apart? I don't notice anything that makes me think they are bad but I was thinking about doing...

Troubleshooting clicking noise coming from drivers side dashboard

Ya it is only doing it for the first minute or so after I start the car today. Seems like it's getting less and less so the gear must be wearing out. I'll probably just let it go at this point

Troubleshooting clicking noise coming from drivers side dashboard

Thanks guys. The only thing not working right is switching between vent, floor and defrost. I already unplugged the door mode actuator last night because I knew it wasn't working and figured that was the culprit but it is still clicking with that actuator unplugged. I will try to get under...

Troubleshooting clicking noise coming from drivers side dashboard

This morning I started getting a very loud and steady popping noise coming from the driver's side dashboard of my 04 trailblazer. It does it as soon as I start it and continues until I turn the car off. Maybe 1 of 5 times I start the car it won't do it right away but within 10 minutes of driving...

high pitch metal on metal sound when turning right

Ok. Would it be pretty obvious if I didn't have the half shaft seated all the way? I keep thinking about that but it sure felt like it popped in and wouldnt go any farther. I'll look at the heat shield when I do my brakes this weekend and see if that gets rid of the sound.

high pitch metal on metal sound when turning right

Thanks guys. Did you replace the heat shield or just leave it?

high pitch metal on metal sound when turning right

I have an 04 Trailblazer with 150k miles on it. I did a lot of work on my front end this weekend. I changed the upper and lower ball joints on both sides, the end links on both sides, the half shaft on the passenger side and the hub assembly on the passenger side. I did all this by reading all...

    P0410 troubleshooting

Well I checked the relay and found a problem. The connector that goes into the relay was really corroded along with the relay itself. Also one of the prongs from the relay was so corroded that it broke off into the connector when I pulled them apart. I can't get the prong out without tearing...

    P0410 troubleshooting

From what I understand the P0410 will not cause any issues except you will be polluting a little more. The main thing for me is getting rid of the check engine light so that I know if a new code pops up.

    P0410 troubleshooting

chatterx - not really a guide per se but just going thru all of the threads related to this code. There is a good thread on the other site(not sure if I'm allowed to mention the name) that a lot of people on this forum came from. the-roadie - Thanks for the advice. I did take the solenoid...

    P0410 troubleshooting

I have the p0410 code on my 04 trailblazer and my wife's 05 trailblazer. I'm trying to troubleshot mine currently. I took the hose off of the solenoid valve and did not hear the exhaust noise. Also did not get sucking or blowing from the 2 hoses. I did find the # 56 fuse was blown but the...

    intermittent grinding/clicking in reverse

Good point. How do you go about finding an independent GM mechanic though? I was actually thinking along the lines of "I don't know any mechanics so if I took it to the dealership, they are a big enough business that I should be able to trust them" Sounds like the wrong thought process though lol
