P0410 troubleshooting

I have the p0410 code on my 04 trailblazer and my wife's 05 trailblazer. I'm trying to troubleshot mine currently. I took the hose off of the solenoid valve and did not hear the exhaust noise. Also did not get sucking or blowing from the 2 hoses.

I did find the # 56 fuse was blown but the other fuse was fine. I replaced the # 56 fuse but it didn't fix the solenoid valve or the hoses. Would it be safe to assume that the solenoid valve AND the air pump are bad at this point?

I can use a multimeter but I don't know how to run 12 v thru the air pump or relay to test those.

I am having the same issue!! I have not yet to begin troubleshooting this yet. Care to take a picture of the areas youve looked at. Are you following a troubleshooting guide for this?

The turbine pump has a relay down near it under the vehicle whose connector can get very corroded. I'd go down and pull that and clean it up as required.

The solenoid valve often sticks due to exhaust crud buildup. I'd take it apart and clean with throttle body cleaner.

chatterx - not really a guide per se but just going thru all of the threads related to this code. There is a good thread on the other site(not sure if I'm allowed to mention the name) that a lot of people on this forum came from.

the-roadie - Thanks for the advice. I did take the solenoid valve off yesterday and tried to clean it with tb cleaner. I was getting some really nasty junk out of it but when I tested again, it still didn't work. I did see that some people actually took the valve apart to clean it and I only removed it and sprayed in the openings. I may try a more thorough cleaning.

I will check the relay for corrosion.

Love this site. Makes me capable of troubleshooting stuff I would otherwise have no chance of figuring out.

Mine started after the first few snow and ice storms we had this winter. I am sure that its prolly something simple that has to do with road salt and/or grime. I also have a camshaft code and need to clean the sensor as per the guide that is on here too.

The vehicle is runnin just fine and I am getting around 18-19 miles a gallon so I havent really worried too much about it. I just dropped 800 in this thing on all new ball joints and new tires all the way around. Im done fixing problems for a bit lol

From what I understand the P0410 will not cause any issues except you will be polluting a little more. The main thing for me is getting rid of the check engine light so that I know if a new code pops up.

Well I checked the relay and found a problem. The connector that goes into the relay was really corroded along with the relay itself. Also one of the prongs from the relay was so corroded that it broke off into the connector when I pulled them apart. I can't get the prong out without tearing the connector apart anyway.

I went to a junk yard to get another connector for the relay but I can't get it off. Is it something I could just cut off and then splice the wires together?
