12V charging/aux line in trailer connector

Brilliant! It never occured to me that that line would not be connected by default!!! Also, my owners manual makes no mention of it :( I found the red wire with ring terminal, verified that it connected to the rear trailer connector, verified that the cold side of the fuse connected to teh...

12V charging/aux line in trailer connector

Hello, all. I have just rewired my (used) pop-up trailer for the 7-position circular connector on my Envoy. Everything is working perfectly, except for the 12V charging line for the trailer's battery. Turn signals & running lights are fine, so it is not a ground issue. I've measured the...

About to install new TCCM in 2002 Envoy; anything to check first?

Thank you to everyone who responded in this and my other thread about replacing the TCCM on my 2002 Envoy. I finally managed to get the job done (our first child was born a few weeks after I started this thread, and I haven't wanted to strand us with just one car in case I screwed something...

Transfer case fill plug seized & head spun out!

Hey, all. I thought that I would post an update. My local shop didn't charge me extra to remove the stuck plug, just the regular fluid change cost (less the actual fluid, as I supplied it to them), so it was a relatively painless mistake. The cost of a new plug was $15 (Cdn) after taxes. At...

Can I fit a sheet of plywood (4'x8') in the back of a 2002 Envoy SLE?

Doug, my truck is not the long wheel-base version, just the standard SLE, and hatch opening is wide enough. You can't lay the sheet flat because of the rear wheel fenders, but if support the middle of the sheet, you can lay it flat across the tops of the fenders. When I bring my drywall home...

Can I fit a sheet of plywood (4'x8') in the back of a 2002 Envoy SLE?

Thanks for all of the replies! I'll just confirm that I was indeed able to fit a 4x4 sheet of plywood in the back; I figured that that would be a good test anyways, since I needed the half sheet for another project. The area between the wheel wells is less than 4' wide, but on top of them it's...

Can I fit a sheet of plywood (4'x8') in the back of a 2002 Envoy SLE?

The title of the post says it all. Can I lay a sheet of plywood or drywall down in the back of my Envoy? I am okay with it sticking out of the back - it's the width that I am wondering about. Assuming that they will fit width-wise, how many sheets of 1/2" drywall do you think that I could...

Transfer case fill plug seized & head spun out!

I agree about using a slightly oversized torx; I tried this but it still wouldn't budge... As for 10mm vs 3/8", the auto industry has been metric for quite some time. Of course, there usually is a close sae/imperial equivalent to most metric sizes, but the metric ones will be exact.

Transfer case fill plug seized & head spun out!

As soon as I realized it was stuck, I realized that I had made a big mistake taking the drain out first. I tried the fill for the front diff before attempting the drain for it, and it's pretty stuck, too. Rather than make a bad situation worse, I will take it to the shop next week and let them...

Transfer case fill plug seized & head spun out!

Hi, all. I was about to do a transfer case fluid change on my 2002 Envoy. This is a used truck, and I've only had it a few months. I hadn't wanted to drive it much until I had done a transfer case fluid change. Well, I jacked up the truck, undid the drain plug, and only after I had drained...

About to install new TCCM in 2002 Envoy; anything to check first?

Hi, all. I have the classic symptoms of a bad TCCM: on start up, all lights light up on the selector switch, then go out after a second. I have purchased a used TCCM off of Ebay, an am ready to install it. If there are other problems with my transfer case (bad motor, sensors, stuck because...

Compatibility of different TCCMs for 4x4 Envoys, Trailblazers, etc.

Excellent. Thank you both for your help. I have a used TCCM from a 2005 Trailblazer on its way. I will post back to update my progress. I don't know when the TC fluid was last changed (used vehicle, new to me), so I will change that while I am at it reset that clock, too. From what the...

Compatibility of different TCCMs for 4x4 Envoys, Trailblazers, etc.

Ah! This is important new information to me! So regardless of the source of the replacement TCCM, I will have to get it programmed. Is this something that most well-equipped garages can take care of, or is this something that will need to go to the GM dealership to get done? Also, how much...

Compatibility of different TCCMs for 4x4 Envoys, Trailblazers, etc.

Hi, all. I have a used 2002 Envoy SLE (4.2 I6) that is in great shape, except for no transfer case control (surprise surprise...) At any rate, I get the classic "lights on control switch light for a few seconds at start up, then turn off, with check 4WD light on dashboard". So, the switch...
