    FOR SALE 2003 Trailblazer LS 2WD $1000

Freon is gone. I've recharged it a couple of times over the past 6-7 years. Location is northern Virginia (DC suburbs). Did most of the maintenance myself, always using synthetic. It's got some rust on the frame. I'll get some pics on here in the next day or so.

    FOR SALE 2003 Trailblazer LS 2WD $1000

I'm the original owner, it's got 223K miles. Runs smooth, no a/c though. It's been a great reliable car, but it's time for it to go.

    SOLVED! Alternator not charging

Thanks for the feedback! New AC Delco unit from Rock Auto installed, seems fine now. 197,800 miles is pretty good for the original. Due to the mileage, and because I was in there anayways, I also changed out the idler pulley, tensioner, and serpentine belt.

    SOLVED! Alternator not charging

Do these alternators go intermittent when they're bad? My 2003 4.2L TB is on the original alternator, nearly 200k. No funny noises, and RPMs don't seem to matter. The other day the voltage went to 12 (and a bit lower) while driving. Took it home and waited a couple days. Magically it fixed...

SOLVED! Replaced the battery, and now the AC doesn't work

OK, problem solved after the simple procedure with the 10A fuse pulled, as spelled out below. I had not seen a post where the AC on/off and the recirc buttons didn't work or even turn on the amber lights, which is why I posted this. But following the procedure below fixed it in just a few...

SOLVED! Replaced the battery, and now the AC doesn't work

2003 with the manual HVAC control module. It was blowing nice and cold until I put in the new battery. Now it only comes out at one temperature: HOT, and that's regardless of where I move the temperature levers. I can direct that hot air to all the vents, but pressing the AC on/off switch...

What did you do to your GMT today? [Part II]

Yesterday, my 2003 TB went over the 180,000 mile mark. Runs super smooth. Hopefully I didn't just jinx the vehicle.

    Temporary misfire

Finally figured it out, as about 2 months ago the TB threw a P0301. $16 for a coil pack from Amazon, and it's been running very well ever since.

    "Violent" cruise control

2003 4.2 and it always resumes in a very spirited fashion.

    Temporary misfire

Are these active in Torque Lite as well? I too am having random misfires, usually on humid days and when going up a hill. Typically occuring between 1900-2200 RPM, but also noticed at idle on those humid days. Every once in a while I'll get a P0300 or a pending P0300.

Power Steering Lines, Compression Fittings, and Pressure Ratings

I went the easy route, and put on a "power steering return hose" that I bought from Advance Auto last night. Cut it to size to replace the steel line that I cut out, and double hose clamped each end. Leak is stopped, and drove the TB to work this morning. The high pressure side isn't leaking...

Power Steering Lines, Compression Fittings, and Pressure Ratings

OK, it's now visually identified: Pinhole leak on the return side (the outboard line, compared to the pressure side). I finally had an weekend afternoon with minimal kids' lacrosse/volleyball/birthday parties etc., so I had some time to take the holder off. It's a pinhole leak that was...

    Code Scanners ?

I have a ScanGuage II, great little device I bought several years ago, but usually I keep the insurance company's device plugged in as it saves me a nice bit of money (thanks USAA). Thinking about buying a splitter. Anyone have any experience with something like this...

Power Steering Lines, Compression Fittings, and Pressure Ratings

Leak has been there since November or December, although I've only driven about 2000 miles since then. If I get some time this weekend, I'll try to inspect it closer and find out exactly where the leak is. Hopefully it's the return side. The rubber bracket on top of the strut tower is wet on...

Power Steering Lines, Compression Fittings, and Pressure Ratings

Great discussion. Mine is leaking, not sure from which line, but it's where the lines are next to each other on top of the front wheel well. I refilled the reservoir, and have driven nearly 800 miles since then, so I am thinking it's the return line because the leak is so slow. My thinking is...
