Need service manuals? Get them here!

So to bother you but I can't seem to get the link to work. I put in my user id and password but it just resets the fields? I disengaged the block up block. Any ideas? Edit: Sorry, I should have read where you wrote in large red text the username and password. :dunce:

To Seafoam or not to Seafoam?...

I did pour into the vent, but no smoke.

    Anyone running autochecks?

How is not knowing the history of a vehicle helpful. If someone wants to learn something, that's a good thing. Not something people should ridicule, regardless of its legitimacy.

    Anyone running autochecks?

Glad you got some more info on your truck. Hopefully you get it running better. Let us know how it turns out.

    Anyone running autochecks?

Ok, I gotcha. Not sure where it was before you got it, but I ran a google search of your vin number and found ads from a place called foreign auto imports from NJ. http://www.indexusedcars.com/car-for-sale/2005_GMC_Envoy_2babb3a7-d5a9-4b7c-ae43-444b339aa7b9/ But unless someone will use...

    Anyone running autochecks?

One of my friends just left a job at a nice sized auto auction, and if the truck sat at the auction all that long then something is most likely "up" with it. Typically, used car dealers snag up nice looking cars quickly and put them on a "buy here pay here" lot. Also if it has like 50+ codes...

    P0300 / Rough Idle / Gas Smell

Did you attempt to gap the plugs? The spot of iridium is small and fragile. Attempting to gap with a disk tool will damage the iridium tip. Typically plugs are good for 100,000 miles, and I assume the same for coil packs. As far as gas milage, it isn't getting any better than 18mpg in city...

ABS kicks in during slow stop

Older thread, but I figure I add to it for people who search through it. My truck was doing as OP describes, from the day I bought it. No noises for roughly 15k more miles and then I got the tell tale hum. Replaced right side wheel hub and now brakes act as they should.

Questions on removing stripped rear diff. fill plug with air chisel.

Well I did the rear diff. today. The fluid was black and there was a layer of metal mud on the magnet, not to happy to see that. Hopefully it's not a big deal. There were no metal chunks or shards, just a lot of stuff on magnet. I can see why people on the forum are so adamant about fluid...

Questions on removing stripped rear diff. fill plug with air chisel.

That's what I want to do but I don't know if I'll be able to find a suitable replacement. I read one thread where a fellow said he scored a new brass plug at oreilly's so I think I'll start there. But I think the amount of bite I can get with my wrench, I should be good as long as I check oil...

Questions on removing stripped rear diff. fill plug with air chisel.

Thanks. After seeing how nasty my front diff. oil was, I had to get that rear plug out one way or the other. It's nice not having to go to a shop over a darn fill plug.

Questions on removing stripped rear diff. fill plug with air chisel.

Today must have been my day. First, my front fill plug just came out like butter. Then I decided to give it a go with the rear, so I got a new 1/2 to 3/8 adaptor from harbor freight because it looked less round on the end than my husky ext. But the adaptor fit loosely, so I decided to go for it...

Getting ready to chase down bad wheel bearing.

He bought the truck with 74k on it and he never change hubs till just two week ago. I don't think the hubs had been replaced before he got it. To be fair though he was driving 200+ miles a work day for a while so he put like 100k on it in two years-ish. He also drove truck with bad hubs for a...

Getting ready to chase down bad wheel bearing.

That 200k mark must be common because my buddy's 04 with 194k just had to replace lower/ upper CA, sway links and ball joints along with his orig. wheel hubs too. I don't think mine will make it to the 200k mark but we'll see. Glad to hear moog ball joints are good.

Questions on removing stripped rear diff. fill plug with air chisel.

Got my front differential plug out and changed the fluid today. The fluid was dark and smelt like sulfur/rotten eggs. What's weird is I tried breaking the front fill plug loose last week with 2 ft of 1/2" drive ext and a universal ext so I could get at it outside the wheel well. Well I thought...
