    Air conditioner clutch shim removal

Removing the shim, if it works, is only a temporary fix. The clutch surfaces will grind as you can see in the photos (center area) and make engagment less reliable. That grinding will eventually scar the entire clutch surface. Is the engagment positive or does it grind and slip to full...

Rear tailing arm bracket cracked rusting away: Solutions?

That part of mine has been gone for a while now. The business end that connect to the frame is split. I'm not sure how that can be welded See attached photo

Rear tailing arm bracket cracked rusting away: Solutions?

Left side is floating in the breeze... on the highway at high speed I get a lot of rumble like a wheel out of balance. Any way to fix this other than getting a junk yard portion of the rear frame and welding it in place? Thanks

NEED HELP Idle Hunting While Using Air Conditioning

Only other thing I can think of is the bearing is going on the compressor and the coil is overheating. If you see black tarry stuff behind the compressor it is likely the cause. I had a failure of the bearing that caused similar symptoms as well. Luckily I never had to mess with the closed...

Put my TrailBlazer in gear but won't move

No go in all gears... acts like its in neutral in any gear? Check the fluid level in the trans, then start the car and check the dip stick again while its running. If the fluid drops down the pump is working, if not the pump has failed.

NEED HELP Idle Hunting While Using Air Conditioning

I suspect you have other issues with the A/C causing the compressor to kick out. I have never had mine charged and it's a 2002 and works great so if you lost a charge my bet is it has a leak or some other issue within the system itself. Take back to the guy who worked on it or a reputable A/C...

    Power Steering Return line

Yea that's the part that's heading down to the cooler. That section would become rubber hose all the way to the other end. I'd just start new at the cooler with the hose bypassing all that rusted stuff.

    Power Steering Return line

Thanks. Your right about the location of that leak. I was thinking of making a coupling there with a piece of metal line if I have to. I just cleaned it up and there is no rust there at all. I'll dive it a bit to see if its oozing out of the top of the connection. The master cylinder is...

Fuel pump pipe seal and collar

I had the same issue but I could not get the rusted pipe out of the connectors with out damaging the connector on one of them. Decided to put connectors on they were 3/8 and 5/16. Cut the plastic tube right at the end and used my flaring tool to hold the pipe so I could drive it on. Used a...

    Power Steering Return line

So you have rubber hose all the way up to the steel line connected to the rack? And its just clamped... correct. Attached are some pretty ratty looking photos of the area. The leak is minimal, not enough to add fluid...yet

    Power Steering Return line

My line from the rack to the cooler is starting to leak in two places. Since its only connected to the cooler with a hose clamp I assume the pressure is not that high so I don't have to mess with the end going into the rack which is not leaking. I intend to use a 3/8 brake line and "power...
