Is it possible to add RPO codes to the BCM? I have a tech2 which is a clone from china. Does it have to be hooked up to the techline to do something like this? I bought a parts rig this weekend i needed a lot of parts and also at least 3.73 gearing...this one had the 3.73 along with g80 and came with every option known to man in it. My parts rig is also an EXT and had heated memory leather and i want to swap it in. I had seen a few threads on this subject and feel confident in putting them in and getting the heated and power working as mine was already power on drivers. From the one thread it said that could not getr memory to wokr and thoguth RPO code needed added to the BCM. Im not sure if i can even connect to techline with it being a clone. I realize that i would need the subscription (they have like a 2 or 3 day pass) and i havent tried has anyone else attemted to do this with a clone? or can the code be added to the BCM without being connected.

Forget connecting to anything to update your Tech 2. All you have is Tis2000 which is good up to 2008 IIRC.

AFAIK, options are done through the VIN. Somewhere in there is the combination of codes to activate in the BCM, PCM, tailgate, HVAC and door modules. You'll have to update all those modules with the donor VIN if you want it to match that truck.

so can i just update the bcm and and door modules? i do not want to do the pcm as i already licensed it with my hp tuner

the only thing i was wondering about was the memory function of the seats i guess...i can live without them as i read where you can make the heated portion work without too much trouble...also my new seats had side curtain air bags...can i plug these in....the wiring is there but there are dummy plugs in the two plugs..i wouldnt think it woul d make a difference as this vehicle predates the "smart airbags" that only go off if someone is in the seat. they ashould be all on the same output form the srs module
