For anyone who is interested, I have to brag on my 07 Envoy Denali that was purchased new in 07, now has 154,099 miles and although it has been retired to my wife's casual use we fight over who gets to use it most of the time.
I have logged all the maintenance and operating costs which includes fuel, tires, batteries, oil, filters, fluid changes, HVAC control module, evap purge valve, headlight bulb and some other misc. items. The third set of tires are about 20% worn so it looks like they will last until 190 k. It does need shocks and struts but the brakes are still in the acceptable range. Total expenditures shown on my spreadsheet is $26,108.62.

$26,108.62 / 154,099 miles = $0.17 per mile which I think is good.

To be honest, I do my own maintenance and minor repairs, the car has seen a lot of long distance travel, is always seviced @ 5000 miles, garaged most of the time and has lived in the mid south all its days, So it has been well cared for.
It still hauls my 5000# boat out of the water twice a year.

Are the operating costs with you repairing or mechanic/dealer doing them?

Reading from his post it seems as if he does the repairs.

Preaching to the choir...

What is your total expense including purchase price, insurance, registration fees?
What was your total fuel expense?

coolasice, It would take me a little effort to break out the fuel cost from the total. I don't record the total cost of ownership as I don't consider it part of the operating expenses. If I were depreciating the car or writing off the car on business expenses I would but that is not the case.
window sticker was $38,600, tags are about $60/year, insurance is $550.44/year. There are no or were no finance charges on this vehicle.

For 154,376 miles used 7,655 gal of fuel = 20.17 mpg.

Total cost of fuel $23,011.70 for 154,376 miles.

$23,011/ 7655 gal = $3.01 average cost per gal.

I think the fuel cost is around 90% of total.

My figures are a little different today because I just filled the tank.
