Went and bought our 3rd envoy today... want to make it a drag truck. Looking to see if anyone has ever put a carburated sbc engine in a envoy or tb before.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with having a backup vehicle, bonus points for having something on-hand that doesn't require extreme adjustment of driving style. And if something happens, spare parts truck.

Great going!!! Love the new idea for the backup being a drag truck! :rotfl:

I'm sure a carb'd SBC could be done, but you'll most likely end up losing all the computerized stuff. I did it with a '97 Isuzu Hombre (aka S-10/Sonoma). Once I pulled the computer, I lost anti-lock brakes, electronic fuel gauge, speedo, and probably other stuff. The truck still drove, started and stopped just fine. I was working other gauge combos for fuel, speedo, etc, and never finished the project. It was fun, tho! Link if you're interested - SBC

theres a guy that did an sbc 350, solid front axle, big lift

you'll have to mod in a cable linkage gas pedal, and custom gauges. engine/trans mount, driveshaft... you're going to have to ditch the electronic trans... etc etc
