Is there a secret handshake for getting my PCM updated? The female is acting as if I'm crazy. Through GMs website, I am aware of updates for my 2002 TB, I ask her to have the mechanic update it and I would like to know what updates were installed. Is this possible or is it me? Anyone who has intel please share the wealth. Thanks!

Totally possible to have it updated. They just have to whip out their fancy TechII scanner.

Stealerships are hard headed.

Can they inform me of what updates have been installed? Printout? I'm sitting here beginning to think I'm wasting my time and they are not updating it, rather diagnosing it. Which I will refuse to pay for.

That's up to them. It's not like it's top secret info (at last I don't think it is), I guess it would depend upon whether the technician felt like telling you or not.

Where did you find this information? Wonder if there's an update for 2004 4.2. No problems really I'm just anal like that

I think the best you can get from them would be the old/new calibration ID number. There was a site where you could enter your cal ID and check to see if it was the latest version but I think they axed it.

edit: come to think of it I think our boy from sweden just went through this with his module(s) maybe he'll chime in

Instead, why not get a tune? Better performance, better shifting and it's based on the latest OEM software. Limeswap, a member here, offers tunes at a reasonable price.

Yeah, Swede got the files somewhere and flashed them into his TechII then flashed them on to his PCM.
With a VIN I can check for updates, if you need any.

I'm sorry my last post came out wrong, was kind of tired when I wrote it.

What I can try to check for you is if there is any updates available for your modules, without hooking up the car it's impossible for me to find out if your modules been updated in the past.

So the outcome to my dealer visit is being told that my vehicle is up to date, however they "reinstalled" the software again,
"just to be sure" ????? I wanted a printout, but did not recieve one. In fact, the only printout I recieved was the invoice. There has got to be a way to see my software and confirm it is up to date. Here is the link I was able to reference my updates...

Thanks for everyone's help on this, if anyone has more guidance, I'll take it.

A lot of mid-range and higher scantools can give you a full list of current software CALIDs installed in your vehicle.
