Fan Clutch

There were reports that when Dorman first started making fan clutches for the aftermarket, they weren't 100% reliable. I had a Dorman engineer contact who was willing to do a thorough failure analysis if anyone would return one directly to him. Nobody ever did - they just got replacements from their parts store. For only $20 more, I'd take the Hayden, who was an (or perhaps THE) OEM supplier. That's what I put in when mine died.

My Dorman crapped the bed last year after only 6 months of service. Got a P0495 with a constant CEL. Going to be replacing it before summer comes. Thankfully it has a lifetime warranty.

Hard to say. Amazon doesn't tell you. China parts are usually really cheap but most of the parts from Dorman are improved upon in certain cases. So if I had to take a guess it could be Mexico.

You may be saving straight-up $$$ with the lifetime warranty, but if time is money to you too, you're losing out every time you gotta run to the store or do the service. Depends on how you consider your time to be, though.

I am not a high flying businessman with a tight meeting schedule. I have plenty of time. I just got a dud. Besides I don't think I have a choice as Advanced Auto will not give me my money back...will they? I think it's just an exchange.
