Front brake seal question

I have a 2005 Envoy (Denali) 2 WD w/95000 miles. I am the second owner. Went to the local parts store this AM to buy a set of pads and inner grease seals. The parts guy said it list 2 different seals, 1 right and1 left. I never have heard of that before. He kept referring to "axle" seals. I said it's not an AWD.

I admit I don't do many brake jobs these days ( I'm old), but I expected that the rotor would mount on a spindle and when repacking the front wheel bearings the seals would need to be replaced.

I would appreciate some insight from you who are more experienced than I.

Spindle and rotor seals?? Wow, they're things of the past!

The parts guy might be referring to hub seals, but as for rotors, you just simply remove and replace them without the need for grease. You will need to remove the caliper and caliper bracket(s) to get the rotors off, but that's normally not too difficult.

So, if I understand you. At 100K miles do the front wheel bearings need to be greased during a brake job? Thanks
