BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!
TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER BECAUSE IT WAS N/C HA!
THEY CALL ME UP AND SAY OH THE LINES AND NIPPLES ON THE PUMP ARE RUSTED AND THEY CAN'T JUST PUT BACK TOGETHER OR IT WILL LEAK. WTF THEY SHOULD OF CALLED BEFORE THEY TOOK IT APART. SO AFTER HAGGLING WITH THE GM AT THE DEALER SHIP I HAD TO PAY $275.00 FOR TWO LINES AND A PUMP. SO N/C TURNED INTO $275.00 BUCKS !
BRIGHT SIDE I HAVE NEW LINES AND A NEW PUMP. MY BUTT STILL HURTS :hissyfit:

They tried to pull the same crap on me when they fixed my tank when it was leaking. Ended up paying nothing because I ripped them a new one. Don't let them pull that crap on you. My level sensor stays at half then drops to a quarter in two days then the next I get is the yellows E light lol.

Well that sucks. My 05 has 126,000 and hasn't had a functioning gauge for 30,000 miles. So I am screwed because they waited long enough that I am over 120k.

The original service bulletin came out two years ago, and those who took their vehicles in had to pay 50% of the cost to fix it, this is just an update to reimburse that 50%

I passed on the original %50 offer a few years ago.... then got this letter in a couple weeks about full reimbursement. Took it in a couple days ago and they replaced it no questions asked. I went straight to the pump and topper her off just so I could look at that needle pegged for the first time in years.

I just got my letter in the mail today. 05 LS with 90k miles. I will run out the 10 years before I hit the 120k miles. How do I find out when my TB was originally sold? I'm the second owner. I have a recollection that it was sold in Oct/Nov of 2004 but not sure.

**knocking on wood** I don't seem to have the fuel gauge issue.

I had mine fixed two years ago for $135 at the dealer, got the letter Saturday and had the dealer file my claim Monday to get reimbursed. Can always use $135 for more truck stuff. Maybe I'll order my 08 fan clutch and finally get tuned.

I didn't have a letter but took it in for door switch recall. Asked about the fuel sender and they told me it was now covered 100%. It is now fixed. I had them put a new pump in while it was down (my choice)and they turned around and whacked me 160.00 for fuel lines that leaked on re-install.

Fuel level sending unit replaced at no charge to me, thanks GM. Always stellar service.

Marc.

I had my sending unit replaced at 50% cost to me about a year ago. GM just sent me a letter stating that now it will be cover 100%. Just my luck I cannot find my receipt and I keep EVERY receipt for my TB. Wonder if the stealership can print me off another one :undecided:

The dealership you got your work from should have it in their system. ....I did both that way. I did not have my receipts.

I only just heard about 10054E from my brother in law (he got a letter about the driver window-switch recall and the dealer then told him about the fuel sensor coverage)
I took it in today but was a bit worried when they said they would charge about $40 for diagnostics but that would be cancelled if they agreed my symptoms were the fuel sensor issue! They had better agree. I have suffered with bad gauge after fuel fill-up for a few years now.

wish they would do this for the malibus as our 05 malibu has a bad sensor and majority of the malibus that come through our shop have broken fuel level sensors lol
