My 2003 TB I6 seems quite gutless when starting up. But once I hit 15-20 mph the motor really kicks in and starts accelerating quite nicely. Any ideas?

Get a tune from PCMofNC.com.
Our trucks are drive by wire. The throttle is controlled by the PCM to restrict the opening of the throttle until the truck is moving. It keeps the trans from getting a beating.
It's called torque management.

Also test if this happens in multiple gears - shift to second and hold a low RPM, then give her a go. If it has a very noticeable sudden pickup, I'd suspect a dirty CPAS.

The vehicle is at a mechanics being safetied as I just moved to anothre province. I mentioned this to him and he figured it was the MAS, I think. Anyhow he was going to put some scan tools on it and take it for a test drive.

I'm also going to be selling it shortly as I was diagnosed with an incurable retina disease a month ago. I lost the reading vision in one eye in a week and have a few days or weeks remaining in my "good" eye as it continues to detiororate.

So I would like to thank all those who have responded to all my postings in the past. Your collective wisdom is greatly appreciated.

Off topic ......

But I am very sorry to hear that Tony. I can't image how scary that must be. My Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sorry to hear of your eye ailment.

There are times, usually when my engine is warm, border line hot, my fan is roaring, during the summer that my second gear is totally slow and unresponsive.

Other times at slightly cooler temp and fan is quiet it runs great.

If you figure it out please post. Likely leading to my crappy fuel mileage as well.
