Hello, need a little help here, I just did a valve cover gasket change, what a pain but finally done, after that code 1345 came on, change the cam sensor, and clean the crank sensor, the one with the 3 screens I guess that how you call it, and also clean the throttle body. last month put new plug can't remember if they are Bosh or AC Delco, a few days ago while changing the valve cover gasket my friend mess with the gap don't know if he mess them up or what, now is running very bad, did a manual Case relearn and now a new code, 0014 and the 1345 still on, what can I do now.
Thanks for any help that you guys can provide

Saw your post on trailvoy, I'm glad you made it over here! Someone will help you, it might be in the morning though if everyone is already asleep.

For being a member there? If you're regretting being a member there (trailvoy) then don't. Chances are, you found it through google and that's not your fault. It's just that there's more members there than here. But this is where you need to be.

what do you mean by "your friend messed with the gap"?--you're talking about the spark plug gap?

yes, I told him that I put new spark plugs and he ask me if I re-gap the or if I check the gap, I told him that they already are but he check and I think he re-gap them

What brand did you replace the sensor with? Did the code appear prior to replacement of sensor? People have issues using aftermarket brands, best to stick with AcDelco or GM....You need to evaluate the problem and question the parts from the point in which it started giving you problems... when was the last oil change, some people clear up the codes doing an oil change... the sensor you referred to, with the 3 screens is your CPAS or Camshaft position actuator solenoid, was this sensor dirty with sludge? You may want to inspect it and see in what condition it is now... if everything checks out, it could end up being the harness, at the connector, push in make sure they're seated properly....

If the recommended 41-103 Iridiums were used, YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSE TO GAP THEM, the old fashion way at least... I use pliers and adjust the ground strap, to open up the gap.... the tip is fragile, and can break easily... however, I think you would be getting a P0300 to P0306 code if this was the case...

Just want to say that the cam position sensor is the the item on the front of the engine. The 3-screen item is the solenoid.

I'm not sure that the "manual relearn" always works in our vehicles. Some it apparently does, some not, and even then it's all up to the computer to decide. What are the chances the timing somehow got knocked when you had the valve cover off? I mean, it's not very likely as long as you stayed away from there. The timing chain and related components shouldn't be touched at all for just the gasket.

I think the brand was STANDAD but I return it today, I clean the CPAS but on tuesday I will replace all 3, the 2 in the front and the one by the transmission on the side to see what happened, also can I do the relearn process with the truck in jack stands and do the 55mph and then the 45 and all the process that I suppose to do or do I have to take it to the dealer or to someone with that scan2? and I just did an oil and filter change yesterday

Yes I did stay away from the timing chain, also some guys are saying that because I loose the screws on the intake manifold that the gasket might be damage

I did check the spark plus today to double check the gap and the tip and they are fine with the proper gap and I did install the AC delco 41-103

there is only one cpas, or variable valve timing solenoid. I think you are confusing the cpas with the 02 sensors

this is your cpas.

here is a write up on how to clean/change it.

yes that is the one that I will be replacing alone with the other 2 sensors, the Crankshaft Position and the Camshaft Position Sensor, to see if the code 1345 will go off

If it were me I would do one at a time, starting with the CPAS first to see if that will get rid of the codes, then the camshaft position sensor. I thought that the crankshaft position sensor was more involved because of a relearn that needed to be done by the dealer--but maybe someone else can verify that.
