One half quart in 2000 miles....Oil Consumption question.

Envoy now has 195K miles on it. Meticulously maintained. Running better than ever. Is this considered excessive oil consumption? Would I benefit from doing a top end soak? Or an oil treatment like the BG Engine Performance Restore. ?

I believe that amount is very acceptable for your mileage. If you are still concerned, try using high-mileage oil.

I'd be careful with engine restorers as one brand, for sure, causes issues with the VVT system.

At that mileage, it's probably futile to try and prevent oil loss. What you spend on additives would probably be more than oil you're trying to save.
