Hello there,
A friend of mine was cleaning the engine on my 02 TB, he disconect the ECM to clean it out and now the truck is all mess up is idling very rough, and giving me a p1345 code

Hey. Are the three connectors seated properly? The middle one has the cam phaser controls which is the only thing that I see related to p1345 and the pcm being unplugged.

I will check it out tomorrow to make sure they are seated correctly, question do you know if I have to do a CASE Realearn now

Not for that code and/or loose pcm connector(s).

Just out of curiosity, was the engine washed with the PCM unplugged?

I can't remember if he clean it with or without, but after that code came on I disconnect the cam position, the crank position, and the solenoid, all 3 of them, the 2 in the front and the one under by the oil pan I guess

Yeah the code says cam/crank correlation which would sound like a loss of cam or crank signal but I've only seen that code when the solenoid sticks. I doubt that it started sticking right at the moment the engine was washed. That would be a heckofa coincidence.

What was he cleaning the engine with? Certain cleaners can muck up/short out electric connections. If I were you I'd go through every connector you can get your hand on, starting with the CPAS connector and clean them with some electrical cleaner, let dry, and put it all back together.

the cleaning was done with an air compressor hook up to a air fitting with a hose spraying with gas

   Sprayed with GAS? Umm am I the only one who questions this?

Why not use a common engine degreaser to clean the truck why resort to the use of Gas as this is a highly flamible fluid and too many electrical parts? Also most folks may not be aware, the VAPOR is the flamible part of Gas not the actual liquid. can only imagine how that engine smelled after the cleaning..
