Greetings - Pass. front window will not move from either the drivers door controls or its own. Power is retained to everything else in the door (mirror, turn signal in mirror, lock, lock button.. etc) including the heated seats on the same panel. Just the window is totally inoperative. It does not appear to make any sound when commanding up or down, nor do I see any noticable dimming of the lights during an attempt.

.. luckily its in the full-up position. worked fine monday night when i closed everything up .. tues morning wouldn't go down.

.. read a few threads from doing a search here and on the old site.

Would the first test be to swap the drivers door module for the pass. door module and see the driver window switch gives me joy ?

Thanks in advance ..

That would be my first step, swapping modules. I believe that they just pop out of the door without much hassle so it's an easy check.

can I use the rear pass door module to test with or does it have to be the drivers door ? Mine has the seat memory, heat, door lock, windows, and window lockout setup - just thinking thats alot of modules to undo / unnecessarily disturb

.. also noted on the way home tonight that the inop door switches are not illuminated if thats any clue

thanks to all

Rear door modules aren't smart or compatible.

Did you remove the Pass. side switches to see if the plug is connected?

You don't have the window lock switch on do you? Haha. On my MR2 that happened, I ordered a new switch. Only to find out I had bumped the window lock. We have a Wall of Shame on my other forum with countless others this has happened to.

correct .. drivers control does over-ride the pass lock feature but I tried it every which way anywho

.. permutations and combinations

The driver's door module has 5 or 6 connectors, but all easy to snap off.

My pass. side stopped working but could hear a click when pressing the up button. Upon tear down of the door panel, I applied power to the window motor and confirmed that up and down worked on the motor. I left it down, plugged module back in, and the up bottom worked, just not down.

So I tore apart the module and found massive corrosion on the bottom side of the circuit board, from what I assume/read is from water getting in.

Found a used 2004 with same controls at the local parts yard for $25 and its working like a charm. I did not inspect the used one though :0

Hey - thanks for the reply .. my bad for not wrapping this up (I did try but my browser crashed like 6 times and I gave up)

So, I plugged the drivers module in and the window worked. Sourced a used one from the local yard for $35 and it worked perfectly.

I did not look on the bottom of the circuit board but everything else looked purrrfect - like it just left the assy. line.

.. makes no sense though. I drive the XUV 99.999% of the time by my self, drivers window is always part of the way down and usually the other 3 cracked a bit. What I'm saying is - the drivers door module has been subjected to 10,000 more cycles AND wetness than the pass side.

I know .. should have got the drivers' side as well cause now Im doomed.
