Proof/Reason of Window Switch Going Bad [Pics]

These are photos of my glitching passenger front window switch (really should be called module). The only glitch was the passenger window would not roll down. Once I got the door apart and tested the window motor (direct 12v boat battery, that was fun), I found out that the motor was fine. And that the switch would roll the window up, just not down.

So hoping to find something fixable (a wire loose or need for a little solder), I took the module apart. It was a PIA to get the circuit board out of its clips. And once I did, I knew there was no fix barring replacement.

(why can't I link to my google+ photos using .jpg extension?)

This is the first time I saw one that was damaged, thanks for sharing!

Also I don't know why the IMG tags aren't working with the google pics. I got an address from a single pic and used the IMAGE button to get it to work. :undecided:

:undecided: Maybe has something to do with the https in the link? Just a guess.

Yeah that's nice and corroded. Hopefully you've got a junk yard nearby with a GMT360 in it you can pull a working replacement from.

Yeah, it must have been. I just insterted the link that Mayo used and it worked.

If you look at Pic3, though it doesn't show well, the PCB board top layer was actually separated from the rest (peeling).

I mention in the post that I did get a used '04 switch but had to swap the colored cover. But, I did not pull that switch all the way apart to check for damage, as it was too much of a PITA to do it to the original.

And this is the passenger?

Isn't the recall for driver side? If so, why has the passenger side not been addressed in the recall as well?

I want mine done but the dealership tells me I'm not on the list. :frown:
