whats up guys,
Recently ive been hearing a rattling from the front right (maybe mid) of my truck. Ive been trying to pin point the location but because it randomly comes and goes i can never seem to catch its location. I did some research for problematic areas that would cause these symptoms and the only one that seem at all to make sence is a bad water pump? Has anyone experienced this being a different problem.

I have an occasional rattle in the exhaust. Probably same thing you have but mine is there often even at idle and more often when rpms drop a little from ac kicking on or turning.

I figure it's my cat from running a bad thermostat for two years but I haven't gotten around to actually getting under it and trying to pinpoint it, I just know it's in the exhaust.

Counting the exhaust manifold, IIRC, there are 4 heat shields.

after doing some investigation i think i spotted the problem. the heat shield by the front right wheel well is hanging off a bit . What is the best/quickest remedy to solve my issue? thanks guys. I remember why i love this site.image1.JPG
