Just discovered I have a freon leak in one of the pipes to the rear A/C on my '05 EXT Trailblazer. It is right above the fuel tank. I looked for previous posts and found someone had heard there are now flexible replacement hoses available as an alternative to seperating the body from the frame to install new rigid lines. Does anyone have any first-hand knowledge of this?

My '05 XL leaked as well, I took it to an automotive AC guy. He had a kit that fixed the line(S), I assume, it was a cut, flare and connect deal. I don't remember the price, but I recall it was not a lot. Something like $20 for the kit, a little labour and a recharge.

Well that sucks. For me anyway. I wish I had know about these kits earlier in summer. I spend $400 to have a shop cut off the rear A/C.

All's well that ends well. Got the new flexible lines from autocoolingsolutions and got them installed. It was somewhat tedious routing the large diameter line around the fuel tank and over the rear axle but all-in-all not that big of a deal. Payed special attention to avoid pinch and abrasion points. Took it to Midas today and they were able to charge it up with no problems. I'm glad I took the harder and costlier approach because we really like our TB and it is our family vehicle so I hate to take short cuts on repairs at this point.

I used the splice kit last week.it worked fine for one day then the a/c clutch stopped engaging

That sucks. Did you lose your charge again or is it something else?

The clutch isn't engaging anymore.I need to make time to test it or its going to the dealer

I believe there is a pressure switch that prevents the clutch from engaging if you've lost too much freon. I'm assuming dye was put into it so you would notice if it was leaking.

Yep dye is in there.it worked for a day then quit again.stupid truck

To find out if it's low, turn on the a/c, disconnect the low pressure switch on the receiver (the can on the passenger side) and short the two connectors for a few seconds. If the clutch engages, it's low on refrigerant and still have a leak. If it still doesn't engage, could be a problem with the relay or the clutch itself.

We tested the relay and the low pres switch. I'm guessing the clutch died.does anyone know which two wires to connect to make it work I've never messed with one with 3 wires on it

Download my manuals. Great electrical schematics in there.

Thanks mooseman.now my blend door for the dash is shot.if its not one thing its another
