Just tried to direct someone here from trailvoy.com, Posted the comment and they automatically changed gmtnation.com to trailvoy.com. Now that's what I call Desperate! I simply hyphenated the address and spelled out dot.

That little feature was coded into the site not too long after the big jailbreak when the majority of us were actively posting the new site's address.

Hope that account has some life in it before somebody tattles to the admin. I know there's no more active mods there anymore, and only a couple of folks seem to be reporting spammers and the like.

Did you see my post in the whore thread? I made a new account last night and they banned me within 5 minutes without me making a single post. I guess they've got my IP on lockdown.

I get the recruiting sure but why talk about it so much and I have even seen people say they report a bunch of posts to keep that admins busy that's bullsht and no better than vandalizing someones house or something. just seem a little juvenile to me. I think we should rise above that, move on and move up......

I am on par with you Brandon, it was amusing hearing about it at first, but IMO it's gotten out of hand with "sabotage" and trolling over there. Obviously we're a far better community, let's not stoop ourselves down, I'd rather keep our reputation up.

Apparently, any text you attempt to post with "gmtnation" in it gets instantly changed to "trailvoy".

Zapp, from what you're saying, mentioning gmtnation in a PM on trailvoy gets reported to their webmasters.

Agreed. Never use the word gmtnation without embedding spaces in it. Even in PMs.

And never make a new account using your home IP. Download and use the anonymous Tor browser.

I still see no problem with educating the poor noobs who just bought into the vehicle and have no idea there's an active support community elsewhere. We're like Boy Scouts helping little old ladies across the street. We're frustrated when the supply of needy old ladies runs low.

I don't see what the big deal is about what we're doing over there... I mean, where would half of us (including the ones saying we should stop) be if we never heard about GMTN? Over there in the dark...

Same here. I started on TV in 2010/2011, but was not an active poster. It was not until 2013 when I came across a few threads saying to come here. Without the active recruiting, I might still be on the darkside

I spent 5 years there and helped make this site a reality. I disappeared a few times but I am back like always. For at least five years more until my loan is paid off. The one thing I've noticed is they still show up before us in general web searches. As annoying as it is, trailvoy is higher in the search rankings and has a ton more content...which was all created by us og's. As long as the have more content we will likely come second. Pretty much leaves us to recruit whenever we can.

I think member count also comes into play and they have way more than we do. Almost all of us have/had an account over there (most of us recruiters have had multiple due to bans) plus all of the other people that go there and stay or abandon ship without hearing about us.

I think the perceived "stability" of being part of a large network, and the sheer amount of time the site has existed (and thus has had successful Google hits) helps them.

Its not a big deal if you know to put "gmtnation" after the search. The members here are the ones who made TV what it is. Give it time and GMTN will be first on Google searches. Until then we can we can save noobs from the darkside.
